The geometry manual can be used by teacher trainers, student teachers, and teachers in primary education. All contents in this manual are based on the Primary Mathematics Curriculum Syllabus (2018). Learning outcomes from curriculum syllabus are used in order to set the learning lines, which are divided into step-by-step contents and linked to instructional strategies and learning activities. In addition, each step also includes additional ideas to expand the teachers' knowledge and understanding on mathematical concept and teaching methods. Moreover, we include extracurricular activities, gender mainstreaming and environmental education that teachers can use as a reference to ensure effective and equitable teaching and learning.

This manual contains 6 chapters:

  • Chapter 1 grade 1 focuses on 3 lessons is lesson 1: the points, the lines, and the curve, lesson 2: the geometry shape, and lesson 3: the patterns.
  • Chapter 2 grade 2 focuses on 2 lessons is lesson 1: 2D shapes and lesson 2: 3D shapes.
  • Chapter 3 grade 3 focuses on 2 lessons is lesson 1: the triangle, the rectangular and the square and lesson 2: the area and the perimeter.
  • Chapter 4 grade 4 focuses on 6 lessons is lesson 1: The angle, lesson 2: parallel line and Perpendicular line, lesson3: the square and the rectangular, lesson 4: the perimeter and the area, lesson 5: The reflection and lesson 6: Tessellation.
  • Chapter 5 grade 5 focuses on 5 lessons is lesson1: the area of triangle, lesson2: angle, lesson3: the property of triangle and quadrilateral, lesson4: The building geometry shapes, and lesson 5: volume of solid.
  • Chapter 6 grade 6 focuses on 5 lessons is lesson1: the property of triangle and quadrilateral, lesson 2: the solid, lesson3: Circle, lesson4: the area and the perimeter, and volume of solid.

This first edition was approved by MoEYS and published in 2021 under the support of VVOB.
