On June 30 the SEAL team organized an awarding ceremony for the science teacher trainers and teachers who cooperated with the programme in technical working groups since 2008.
Within these technical working groups they worked together to develop and try-out innovative learning materials to support student-centred teaching in their classes. As these materials are approaching final approval by the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth (MoEYS), the role of these working groups has been completed. From July onwards, a smaller group of ‘trainers of trainers’ will actively prepare the upcoming nationwide workshops.
During the ceremony, members received a certificate and a VVOB bag with educational goodies. Certificates were awarded by Mr. Chea Phon, vice-director of the Teacher Training Department (TTD), Ms. Te Chan Sokunthy (RTTC Director), Mr. Ly Chung Pheng, vice-director of POE Kandal and yours truly. The ceremony was successfully concluded with a buffet.
